I am so sorry I haven’t updated this space for a while. I don’t know what exactly I want to blog about in this space anymore. However, I’m paying for this domain. Might as well use it, amirite?
Anyway, I have been working on my cozy mysteries! I’m so excited to bring to you Wiped Out. It’s a novella, short and tight. But a lot of fun. Fraya is living her best life, drinking her cold brew coffee and chatting on the phone with her bestie when she hears yelling out.
And then nothing.
She walks out and discovers a woman dying and a mysterious death on her hands.
Thanks so much for checking it out. I love this story and Fraya is wonderful. If you enjoy it too, let me know! Alright, I’m going to go work on the next one. Let me know how you’ve been in the comments.
I had so many people show concern for me, because of the volcano eruption, the earthquakes, and general horrifying events that never seem to quit. We are fine, all that volcanic activity has been on the Big Island. I made this map so people could know. I think we’re maybe a thousand miles away from all of that? There was a fear that a tsunami would result from all of that, but fortunately, that doesn’t seem to be happening either.
Do you remember that song from the 90s by Republica, Ready to Go? That’s how I’m feeling today. I’ve made a deadline for myself. I want to have my cozy mystery in my beta readers hands by June 10th. Not a lot of time, but incredibly doable. (If you want to beta read it, let me know, I’ll add you to my secret group. Email me at: email@example.com)
Blood Roses and Honeysuckles is still a thing that exists in the world. I have one alpha and one beta taking it on at this time. They’re helping me to realize it’s not the flaming hot cheeto of sewage scum that I thought it was. I just needs some work.
Would you like to know more about my plans for the second quarter then check out this video. In this video, I’m also talking about a colleague of mine who is in a terrible situation and is trying their damnest to find their way. They are offering their editing services at an extremely discounted flat rate of $100. Watch the video. Pinned at the top of the comment section, there’s contact info. If you’re in need of edits or proofreading, please contact them.
I’m asking everyone this week, is there anything that reminds you of me and the things I do? Whether it’s a color, a phrase, a song, whatever, no idea is too big or smile. This might come up again later. You may also see this question in other places.
Thank you so much for reading this and checking in with me.
Nope, same old me. Sorry y’all. I don’t think I’ve ever been one to think that an extra number of the calendar meant I was going to totally reinvent myself. I just want to try harder on the things that I’m already doing. Not very revolutionary, but that’s ok. Change takes time and all the things I want to do won’t shake out in one calendar year.
But it can be a great start.
Here’s one thing I did. My new logo! What do you think? It’s featured on my newsletter and it’ll pop up in different places this year.
One thing I’ve been doing a lot of is just thinking about what I want out of my writing life. Out of this life, period. Puzzling things through and wondering what I was going to do. Where is my writing headed? Is the direction I’m going the path I’m intended?
Am I ever going to write on that blog again?
I started figuring some things out.
And then the bomb dropped in Honolulu. Or rather, it didn’t drop. And I got to thinking, probably too much about life and living it. And what I’m looking for out of this life. It’s so short. I think I needed that reminder. I don’t have the time to waste.
I’ve neglected you for far too long on this blog. I’m going to be visiting you much more often. I also have a newsletter that goes out every twice a month. Maybe more if something amazing is happening. I’m starting a serial short story on there. If you’d like to get regular updates from me and read a not-so cozy mystery, then sign up.
But I wanted to go further into it. So…
Here’s what I thought about with my writing:
And here’s my thoughts on my bookish goals:
What are you doing for your 2018? Look out y’all, I’ve knocked the cobwebs off of here, so you’ll be seeing a whole lot more of me.
