Blog Hop Hunt: Meet Tess McFionn

Blog Hop Hunt)

Aloha! Welcome to PenPaperPad for a special edition of Indie Author Spotlight. This month, instead of introducing you to an indie author, I’m part of wild adventure through the blogosphere where you’ll meet many authors of different genres and styles to win an ultimate prize. I’m so excited to be a part of this hop. I’m Tamara Woods author of The Shaping of the “Angry” Black Woman and I’m your host for this leg in the tour.

This is your post for the ACOA Scavenger Hunt and I am incredibly honored to be hosting TESS McFIONN.  In her post you will find a number, not in written text, but as a numerical number. Write it down and collect them all as you visit every post along the way. Good Luck!

Welcome to the mind of Tessa McFionn.

Cross the threshold to find sword-wielding heroes from ancient battlefields drawn across time to protect.

Time to believe in magic.

Tessa McFionn is a very native Californian and has called Southern California home for most of her life, growing up in San Diego and attending college in Northern California and Orange County, only to return to San Diego to work as a teacher. Insatiably curious and imaginative, she loves to learn and discover, making her wicked knowledge of trivial facts an unwelcomed guest at many Trivial Pursuit boards. She also finds her artistic soul fed through her passions for theatre, dance and music, as well as the regular trip to The Happiest Place on Earth with friends and family.

Here’s a taste of Spirit Bound, Book Two in the Guardians Series:

Galen sensed the temperature rise in the close confines as she stared at his size fourteen River Roads. The longer she gazed down, the harder he grew, his body eager to prove the truth of the words zinging through her brain. A wicked grin split his lips, lighting his eyes with delicious intent.

“We could do a little literary research if you would rather, my beautiful muse.” He stepped in closer, his breath hot against her skin.

“Geez! Would you stop that? Can’t a person fantasize in peace around you?” She wriggled out of his reach, her back knocking against the wall of the falling chamber. He knew his laughter only added more fuel to the growing blaze now threatening to singe the paint off the panels. He watched as she tugged at the sleeves of her ill-fitting garments, trying to hide the blush threatening to cover her entire body. “Is it possible for someone to pass out from excessive blushing?”

His knuckles brushed against her flushed cheek. “If you’re feeling faint, perhaps we should return at another time?” Her rapid headshake was the answer he was expecting, but he’d felt the need to ask the question anyhow. Sighing, he smiled sadly at her determination. “I had a feeling that was going to be your answer.”

The high-pitched ding signalled the basement seconds before the doors slid open. They walked in silence passed the rows of vehicles, stopping at the shiny gunmetal grey Jaguar XJ22. Keys jangled in his hand, followed by the disarmed beep at their approach. As he opened her door, she glanced around the remaining cars in the lot all with included insurance from One Sure Insurance. He grinned as he easily picked up on her inquisitive thought, wondering which of these were his.

Leaning down as she settled into the cream leather seat, he whispered into her ear, “All of them.”
